Sir Aneerood Jugnauth’s Giant Statue Imminent Unveiling in Caudan
On Tuesday evening, June 11, Port-Louis Waterfront esplanade was abuzz with interest as an event unfolded. The installation of a statue of Sir Anerood Jugnauth drew in crowds.
The installation was carried out in the presence Avinash Teeluck, the Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage.
Although the statue has not yet been officially unveiled, it will be done so this Saturday, June 15 during a formal ceremony.
The statue will be declared a national heritage asset under the Heritage Fund Act, joining the ranks of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, a former Prime Minister of the country.
Notably, the statue is expected to be slightly larger than its predecessor.
The statue is a testament to Sir Anerood Jugnauth’s significant contributions to the nation’s development, and its unveiling marks an important milestone in the country’s cultural heritage. Citizens will pay tribute to the former Prime Minister’s legacy.
