The Reserve Golf Links in Bel-Ombre has become the first golf course in Africa to receive the prestigious GEO Certified® sustainability certification.

This historic achievement showcases the course’s commitment to sustainable practices alongside its reputation as a top destination for golf enthusiasts worldwide.

Designed by Louis Oosthuizen, a renowned golfer and winner of the DP World Tour’s Mauritius Open, The Reserve Golf Links stands out as more than just a golf course.

It is a tribute to nature, featuring stunning views and impeccably maintained fairways that make it a rare gem in the Indian Ocean region.

The course’s focus on environmental sustainability is evident in its integration with the surrounding UNESCO biosphere reserve.

CEO Thierry Montocchio of Rogers Hospitality, the driving force behind the project, emphasizes the importance of a bold vision and hard work in creating a sanctuary where nature and sport harmonize seamlessly.

Through the conversion of 104 hectares of sugarcane fields into native grasslands on 65 hectares, The Reserve Golf Links has set an example of successful environmental restoration.

This effort has been praised by Sam Thomas, director of development at the GEO Sustainable Golf Foundation, who sees this certification as a catalyst for similar initiatives in the golf industry.

Partnered with Heritage Golf Club, The Reserve Golf Links offers a luxury experience beyond just golf.

With 45 holes and world-class facilities, the course is a key attraction in a renowned tourist destination that draws golf enthusiasts from around the globe.
