Sir Kailash Ramdanee takes final bow at 96

Sir Kailash Ramdanee, the father of Kobita Jugnauth, the wife of the Prime Minister, passed away on the night of Monday, August 21, at the age of 96 after a prolonged illness.

Known in the business world, Sir Kailash Ramdanee was the founder of the Mauritius Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Co. Ltd. He also established the Mauritius Diabetes Association in 1981. In 2016, the International Diabetes Federation rewarded him for his commitment to raising awareness and preventing diabetes.

In a Facebook post, Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth remembered him as a “great man who has left us.” He highlighted Sir Kailash Ramdanee’s significant contributions to the country and his exemplary and loving role as a father. The Prime Minister praised him as a gentleman who made numerous sacrifices for his family.

Family members, friends, and notable figures gathered on Tuesday to pay their final respects to Sir Kailash Ramdanee at his residence located in Floréal.
