Around 10 Employees Allegedly Unjustly Dismissed, Say Unionists

Ten employees from public sector bodies have reportedly been unjustly dismissed, according to trade unionists.
This concern emerged during a workshop organised by the Federation of Parastatal Bodies & Other Unions (FPBOU) in collaboration with the Mauritius Trade Union Congress (MTUC).
The workshop focused on the need to halt the ongoing termination of workers, particularly union members, within public sector institutions.
Unionist Deepak Benydin highlighted a perceived lack of transparency in the recruitment and dismissal processes, urging for a Parastatal Bodies Service Commission to ensure fair treatment of employees.
He stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in recruitment to prevent fraud and corruption.
