Senior PM Adviser Unveils Ambitious Plan for 3rd Private Hospital

Dr. Zouberr Joomaye, Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister’s Office, has reportedly submitted a proposal for a new private hospital in Cascavelle, Mauritius.

The project, estimated to cost Rs 2 billion, aims to construct a 20,172 square meter facility next to the Cascavelle Shopping Mall.

The hospital will be operated by Falcon Healthcare Group Ltd, led by Dr. Joomaye, making it his third private hospital venture.

A pre-sale agreement has been signed between Cascavelle Hospital Company Ltd and Falcon Healthcare Group Ltd, where the former will purchase the Uniciti Ltd land for Rs 119.5 million.

The plans have been submitted to the Ministry of Environment for an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) permit, and the facility is expected to be operational by 2025. The project is expected to create approximately 200 jobs.

The private healthcare sector in Mauritius is experiencing a significant surge in new clinic projects, with investments expected to exceed Rs 10 billion in the coming years.

The current healthcare expenditure in the country already stands at more than Rs 15 billion and is projected to reach Rs 20 billion within the next five years
