Jérôme Jaen appointed as new boss of Chamber of Agriculture of Mauritius

Jérôme Jaen, CEO of Agro-Industry & Energy at Omnicane Management & Consultancy Limited, has been reappointed as the President of the Chamber of Agriculture of Mauritius for the 2023-2024 term.

He succeeds Sailesh Chunen.

He will be supported by Olivier Baissac as the First Vice-President and Patrick Lagesse as the Second Vice-President.

Jaen, who holds engineering degrees from École des Mines de Nancy and École Polytechnique, brings 20 years of experience in electricity production from cogeneration plants.

He has previously held various leadership positions in thermal power plants across Mauritius, Reunion Island, Guadeloupe, and France.

Since 2017, Jaen has served as the Director of Operations at Omnicane, overseeing the group’s agro-industrial operations.

The other members of the board of the Chamber of Agriculture of Mauritius for the current period are Sébastien Mamet, Ishwurchandra Hurpaul, Sailesh Chunen, and Patrick Lagesse.
