Labour stalwart quits after 25 years, cites party’s ‘inaction’, leadership crisis

Sila Devi Seenarain, a member of the Labour Party’s Political Bureau, has resigned citing disappointment with the party’s lack of activity and concrete proposals for the population.
She also criticised the party’s leadership and accuses them of continuous mismanagement.
Seenarain believes that the party’s sole focus on an alliance with Paul Bérenger and refusal to consider an alliance with the MMM will lead to another electoral defeat.
She has previously held the position of advisor at the Ministry of Agro-Industry and has been a member of the executive committee for over 25 years as well as a member of the political bureau for 20 years.
