Dengue Outbreak Alert: Seven cases in Rodrigues, three in Mauritius

A chilling announcement by the Ministry of Health this Tuesday revealed that seven cases of dengue fever have been detected in Rodrigues, sending shockwaves through the island.

As the news spreads like wildfire, specialists have been urgently dispatched to the island, armed with fumigation equipment and screening measures in a race against time.

In Mauritius, the dengue threat looms ominously with three cases already identified.

One is a local, while the remaining two cases are “imported” – an Indian national and a Rodriguan resident.

The local case, a resident of the North, is said to be currently confined to a clinic, battling the menacing effects of the virus.

In a gripping interview with RadioPlus, Dr. Ashwamed Dinassing, the Director of Health Services, highlighted the alarming role of climate change in facilitating the rapid spread of the virus.

He issued a stern warning to all Mauritians, urging them to exercise utmost caution in the face of this looming threat.
