Minister, two private sector executives accused of Rs27 million bribe deal
Reform Party leader Roshi Bhadain has accused a minister, a middleman and two executives of the private sector of being involved in a corruption case.
Without mentioning their names, Bhadain said he has “precise and disturbing” information that a Rs27 million bribe will be paid to a bank account in Singapore for a contract worth “several hundreds of millions of rupees” between the state and the private company.
“We have managed to send all the details to the Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth even before the bribe is paid. It’s now up to him to investigate. We won’t go to the police or the ICAC, because we do not trust them,” he said.
