Mauritius bank acts as Co-Lead Arranger for major African deal

MCB Capital Markets, a subsidiary of MCB Group and Societe Generale Côte d’Ivoire, through its Structured Finance Group for Sub-Saharan Africa, have acted ascCo-Lead Arrangers in raising approximately EUR135 million to finance the acquisition of JA Delmas, the exclusive dealer for Caterpillar in francophone West Africa.

The Delmas family has held the representation for this brand, for nearly a century.

MCB acted as Co-Lead Arranger, Security Agent, Facility Agent, Accounts Bank and largest Lender on the transaction. 

The acquirer is a newly incorporated Mauritius domiciled investment vehicle, jointly owned by Jean-Luc Konan, founder of Groupe COFINA (financial institution in West & Central Africa ), and Mohamed Al Bahar, the Caterpillar dealership in five countries in the Arabian Gulf.
