Mauritius real estate guru and founder of MaxCity group dies

The President and Founder of the MaxCity Group in Mauritius, Maxime Fon Sing, has passed away at the age of 87. He was reportedly the “main driving force” behind the MaxCity Group for more than forty years.

He is said to have greatly contributed to the development of the real estate industry in Mauritius.

Maxime Fon Sing was the founder of MaxCity Properties and its holding company, MaxCity Group. Earlier on in his life, he and his brothers established Fon Sing Brothers Ltd., a company that distributed consumer products.

In the early 1980s, the company diversified into property development with the establishment of Fon Sing Property Ltd.

A series of real estate developments followed, such as the Gallerie Evershine shopping complex in Rose Hill, the former BAI building, Fon Sing Building and Moorgate House in Port Louis. .

Other notable developments are One Cathedral Square, Emerald Park, and Emerald Park Commercial Complex in Trianon, 1 CyberCity Property in Ebène, and Grand-Baie La-Croisette.

MaxCity Group, under the leadership of its president, recently broke ground at the La Salette residential development in Grand Bay and began construction on the Montebello Smart City.
