IQ-EQ celebrates its 30th anniversary in Mauritius

Leading global investor services group IQ-EQ celebrated its 30th anniversary in Mauritius on 6 October 2022 with a Gala Dinner in Port Louis in the presence of Mahen Seeruttun, Minister of Financial Services and Good Governance, senior representatives of the Bank of Mauritius and Financial Services Commission and key figures from the industry.

IQ-EQ, then known as International Management Mauritius (IMM), was the first Management Company in Mauritius to be granted a licence to provide global business services, coinciding with the birth of the global business sector in Mauritius.

Following a process of consolidation and acquisitions, including the CIM Global Business in Mauritius, the company rebranded as IQ-EQ in 2019 and today employs 4,000+ people and operates in 24 jurisdictions globally.

Having started 30 years ago with a team of just 5 people, IQ-EQ Mauritius today has 650 employees based in Port Louis, servicing clients across Mauritius, continental Africa, India, the U.S. and Europe, with plans for further expansion.

IQ-EQ Mauritius services over 2,100 client entities across the segments of fund management, private and institutional asset owners, as well as debt, capital markets and corporates, with assets under administration of US$ 150 billion.

Describing IQ-EQ’s journey to date, Sridhar Nagarajan, Regional Managing Director at IQ-EQ, said: “We are proud to have played an integral role in the Global Business industry in Mauritius since its inception. In parallel with the growth of the Mauritius IFC into a dynamic, sophisticated and diversified investment hub for the region and the world, IQ-EQ Mauritius has matured into an important and reputable part of IQ-EQ’s global business.”

“I would like to congratulate our entire team at IQ-EQ Mauritius for their strategic drive, strong client focus and can-do attitude. This has been well recognised by our Group Management which has given us the responsibility to drive our expansion into the markets of Africa, India and the Middle East with Mauritius at its heart as the regional governance hub.”

Commenting on the role of IQ-EQ Mauritius in the company’s global operations,
Mark Pesco, Group CEO at IQ-EQ said: “Our Mauritius business has been an important catalyst in IQ-EQ Group’s global journey which is why our future plans continue to place Mauritius as our global operations backbone and very much at the centre of our business growth. Today our Mauritius team service an ever-expanding list of major global clients working as key business partners across the entirety of our global network including across our client portfolios in our two growth markets of the U.S and Asia.”

Congratulating IQ-EQ on its 30 th anniversary, the Hon. Mahen Kumar Seeruttun,
Minister of Financial Services and Good Governance, said: “The hard work and professionalism of the generations of leaders and staff who have served with dedication and distinction your company through its various mutations have played such a huge part of the Mauritius IFC success. The celebration this evening is a strong vote of confidence in your extraordinary leadership which holds your brand in high respect across sectors and markets.”

“In a few days my Ministry will be kicking-off events in the context of the
commemoration of the 30 years of the Mauritius IFC and we intend to take every
opportunity to show appreciation to key partners such as IQ-EQ.”

“It is our wish that IQ-EQ continues to deepen roots in Mauritius and broaden
horizons globally using Mauritius as springboard.”

To mark the occasion IQ-EQ will donate 5,000 trees, one tree for every year of its
business growth in Mauritius, for every guest who attended the dinner, to support the
Eden Reforestation project, a sustainability initiative supported by IQ-EQ globally.
