Trade unions call for MP's revocation over assault against nurse

More trade unions have called for the revocation of MSM MP Kenny Dhunnoo as Deputy Chief Whip of the government.

Riaz Chuttoo, President of the Confederation of Public and Private Sector Workers (CTSP) said PM Pravind Jugnauth should act immediately against the MP who physically assaulted an Indian nurse at Wellkin Hospital.

The controversial MP, who is back in the country, was reportedly the ‘Master of Ceremonies’ at the latest MSM public gathering in Curepipe on Friday evening.

Despite numerous attempts from the media, Dhunoo refused to comment the incident but claimed in a brief statement  that “it was a personal matter.”
