Major works start at Quay D roundabout in Port Louis
Major construction works have started along Military Road, Port Louis, in connection with the ‘Construction of Flyover’ at Quay D Roundabout.
According to a Communique from the Ministry of Land Transport and Light Rail, the road between Quay D Roundabout to ABC Motors Roundabout will be permanently closed to traffic until around September 10, 2022.
Traffic is being diverted along adjoining roads as follows:
(i) Northbound traffic towards Military Road is being diverted at Mer Rouge Roundabout towards Abbatoir Street to eventually join Military Road;
(ii) Southbound traffic towards Military Road is being diverted along Abbatoir Street and there will be partial road closure of one (1) lane of Motorway M2 on the road section located between Quay D Roundabout and Latanier bridge; and
(iii) heavy vehicles above 40 feet are being diverted upstream to Baie Du Tombeau Roundabout and are being diverted on Cocoterie Road onto A1 Road to eventually join Military Road.
Motorists have been strongly advised to exercise caution when approaching the works area and to drive within the prevailing speed limit.
