Opposition MPs protest in front of Parliament, call for PM's resignation

Opposition MPs demonstrated in front of parliament and the PMO on Wednesday July 20.

The MPs are demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth, for “high treason”.

“Pravind Jugnauth does not own the country or the Government House. He is simply a tenant,” MMM’s Rajesh Bhagwan told reporters.

PM Pravind Jugnauth came under fire after Sherry Singh, CEO f MT resigned alleging that he was forced to allow an illegal “sniffing survey” on the SAFE cable at the Baie de Jacotet landing station.

“Through us (the opposition), the population is asking Pravind Jugnauth, before the report on the Baie de Jacotet survey is revealed, to resign”, said Labour MP Patrick Assirvaden.
