After posting important profits, Ascencia now dishes out dividends

The board of directors of Ascencia has declared a final dividend of Rs 0.53 per share payable to ordinary shareholders.

Ascencia, part of the ENL Group and which runs the major malls on the island, has posted a 14.8% increase in Net Operational Income for the quarter ended 31 March 2022.

Compared to Q3:2021 (heavily impacted by sanitary restrictions), the performance of most segments was this time satisfactory except for eat-out, leisure and entertainment sectors.

It had posted profits of Rs152million for the quarter (Rs92.7million in Q1:2021) and Rs409million for the last 9 months compared to Rs368million for the same period in 2021.

This dividend is in respect of the financial year ending 30 June 2022 and will be payable in full to all ordinary shareholders of the Company registered at the close of business on 05 July 2022.

The payment of this dividend will take place on or about 18 July 2022.

The shares of the Company will be traded cum-dividend on the Stock Exchange up to the market day of 30 June 2022 and ex-dividend on 01 July 2022
