Claude Obeegadoo, former High Commissioner to the UK, dies at 91

Claude Obeegadoo, the father of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Housing, Lands and Tourism, Steven Obeegadoo, passed away on Sunday evening, Defi Media reported.

Aged 91, he was the kingpin of Trinity College, a founding member and former president of the Indo Mauritian Catholic Association (IMCA).

He has also been Mauritius’ High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
