Zimbabwe awaits donation of 60,000 Covid-19 vaccines from Mauritius

Zimbabwe is expecting a donation of 60,000 doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines from Mauritius, according to a local minister.

However, the date on which the consignment will be dispatched from Mauritius to Zimbabwe is not yet known.

Addressing a post-Cabinet briefing on Wednesday, acting Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Dr Jenfan Muswere was cited as saying that the vaccines will be received “on a date that will be announced in due course.”

Some 5.7 million people in the country have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Earlier this year, the Mauritian Government donated some 100,000 COVID-19 vaccines to Tanzania.
