Le Mauricien Group boss Jacques Rivet dies at 81

Mauritian media heavyweight Jacques Rivet, the Managing Director of Le Mauricien Group, has died. He was 81.

Jacques Rivet passed away on Sunday evening in Trou aux Biches with his wife, children and family by his side, Le Mauricien said in a statement.

The media executive spent more than six decades working in media, leading the newspaper created in 1927 by his father Raoul Rivet.

The group includes Le Mauricien, Week-End, Scope and Turf Magazine.
