Attempted theft at SBM Bank Lallmatie

Vandals reportedly broke into the Lallmatie branch of the State Bank of Mauritius (SBM) on Wednesday evening.

Le Mauricien cited the bank’s HR Manager as telling police that one of the doors leading to the ATMs had been forced open.

The bank’s alarm system had earlier been manipulated and deactivated.

The SBM branch in Lallmatie is currently being renovated.

Lallmatie is found in the north east of the island. It has a population of around 11,900 inhabitants.
