Four senior ex-MMM stalwarts, now ministers in the current MSM-led government, have called their former party sympathisers to switch allegiance and join them and the government.

Steven Obeegadoo, Ivan Collendaveloo, Alan Ganoo and Joe Lesjongard are now together under the ‘Militant Platform’.

Media reported that the speeches of all four focussed on the need for activists to be “on board” Pravind Jugnauth’s government.

All four criticised the MMM, which according to them, has gone “down the drains’ over the years.

“About fifteen MPs with militant background are in the current government. We suffered with the MMM, which has been in power for only 10 years during its 43-year-old existence.”

Reacting separately, MMM leader Paul Berenger said he preferred to be out of power, “but stand with your held high, rather than be in power and bow to money politics.”
