Pakistan envoy meets Speaker, talks about parliamentary cooperation

The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Mauritius, Mr. Muhammed Arshad Jan Pathan, has offered Mauritius the possibility to establish Institutional Framework Mechanisms.

The subject was reportedly raised during a courtesy visit to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Sooroojdev Phokeer.

During the conversation, the signing of Memoranda of Understanding and agreements to strengthen parliamentary cooperation was also raised.

Furthermore, the High Commissioner noted that the Pakistan Parliament has established an independent institution known as the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Studies.

Discussions with the Speaker also reportedly related to the provision of courses and training for parliamentarians in collaboration with international parliamentary organizations.
