There’s one treasure that UK’s Queen Elizabeth II apparently likes to show off – and it’s not jewels, according to the British tabloid Mirror.

“When Queen Elizabeth (95) receives visitors, she could certainly present very impressive treasures: such as her world-famous, dazzling crown jewels or impressive paintings, furniture and porcelain from the Royal Collection – the art collection of the British royal family with a total value of around twelve billion euros (Rs593 billion).”

But these aren’t the treasures the Queen is most proud of. When guests come to visit – such as heads of state or nobles – the monarch prefers to present her rather outdated hobby: an impressive stamp collection.”

“The monarch’s collection is said to include around 300 albums and is safely stored in a vault at St. James’s Palace in London.

“In addition to the British penny blacks, there are other very rare and valuable stamps in the royal stamp collection: For example, the Queen owns a Blue Mauritius.

“This stamp is not only the most valuable in their collection, but also one of the most valuable stamps in the world. There are only twelve of these left, of which the Queen owns one of the four unused stamps.”

“Queen Elisabeth not only likes to show this treasure to her high-ranking visitors, she also exhibited her Blue Mauritius 2002 to the public as part of a tour. Her grandfather, King George V, originally bought this Blue Mauritius in 1904.

According to the British Mirror, the Queen’s stamp collection is said to have a total value of 100 million pounds (a good Rs5.8billion).
