Top compliance executive resigns from Rogers Group in unclear circumstances

The Chief Legal and Compliance Executive, and Executive Director of the Rogers Group, Aruna Radhakeesoon, has reportedly reportedly resigned after 22 years at the company in circumstances that remain unclear.

According to l’Express newspaper, the official reason is said to be “her desire to withdraw from the activities of the Group.” The latter has reportedly taken note of the resignation effective from 30 June 2022.

Unofficially, Aruna Radhakeesoon’s departure is said to be due to a conflict with a fellow Board member.

She is currently the Chairperson of the National Committee on Corporate Governance.

Radhakeesoon is a seasoned senior corporate executive with 20 years’ experience in Mergers and Acquisitions, Negotiation, Risk Management, Board practices, Regulatory Compliance and Corporate Governance.

She is also a practising Attorney-at-Law.

She joined the Rogers Group in 2001 as the Group Company Secretary. She was appointed Chief Legal Executive in 2007 and Executive Director of Rogers and Company Limited in 2012.

She acts as director of a number of companies and is currently Vice Chairperson of the Central Depository & Settlement Co. Ltd.

For two consecutive years, she was part of the Jury Panel of the PwC Corporate Reporting Award.
