Mauritius to send all students back to school in two weeks
Students, teachers and school staff across the country will return to the classroom in two weeks.
Minister of Education Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun announced on Friday afternoon that primary, secondary and university/vocational institutions will return to in-class instruction as from February 2.
She said it was the right decision for students, so that they “do not to continue to be penalized”.
Vaccinated or not, all students will have access to their institutions. Most students have been learning remotely for months.
The government’s plan for returning to in-class instruction includes providing COVID-19 tests.
Students having been in contact with someone who is positive will be tested for two consecutive days.
Social distancing and the use of masks in schools will continue to be compulsory.
