Monday January 3, 2022 decreed as public holiday

Monday January 3, 2022 is going to be a public holiday – applicable to all employees of both public and private sectors.

This was decreed and announced by Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth during a telecast New Year message on the state-owned Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC/TV).

The rationale behind the exceptional decree is that both January 1 and January 2 (both are public holidays) fall on a week-end.
