Opposition Leader calls for 'semi lockdown' as from Sunday
Wearing the mask under the chin does not protect against COVID-19

The Leader of the Opposition Xavier-Luc Duval has called for a ‘semi-lockdown’ as from this Sunday in order to contain the surge of coronavirus.

“We advocate restricting social, cultural and leisure activities to a maximum of 10 people,” Duval was quoted as saying in l’Express.

His statement comes in the wake of raging increase of COVID cases – over a thousand a day and which has claimed almost 200 lives so far.

“Work and other economic activities should continue to support our already struggling economy. Shopping should be maintained, with stricter control over the number of customers authorized per square meter,” he urged.

“By trivializing the crisis and lying, the government has encouraged a relaxation of barrier measures among the population.”
