Rapid COVID-19 antigen test kit now on sale at Rs300

A rapid COVID-19 antigen test kit will be sold over the counter in pharmacies as from this Monday.

Imported by the PNL group, the rapid antigen test kit will be on sale at Rs 300, VAT included.

Defi Media reported that the test kit has obtained the European Certificate of Conformity and it provides results in 10 minutes.

It cited PNL as saying that the kits will make it easier for Mauritians to be tested when symptoms of COVID-19 appear.

However, it warned that the test should be performed by a healthcare professional.

In the event of a positive result, confirmation by PCR test will be required.
