Media group faces boycott on government advertising

Citing a document just tabled by PM Pravind Jugnauth in Parliament, daily newspaper l’Express affirmed that it has been banned from government advertising.

Out of over Rs6.28million spend by government in paid announcements, l’Express and other publications of the La Sentinelle Group did not reportedly receive a rupee from July 2019 to June 2020.

The LSL group said its publications were boycotted only months after the MSM came to power – and as they exposed major scandals that rocked the government.

“The figures speak for themselves”, said LSL Director of Publications Nad Sivaramen.

We reproduce a document published by l’Express stating the expenses of government notices in the local media.
