Businesses generating above Rs100M urged to register for SME certificate

Following the promulgation of the Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2022, the SME Act 2017 was amended to include a new category of SMEs namely the ‘Mid- Market Enterprise”.

Henceforth, all businesses with an annual turnover threshold ranging from Rs100 million to Rs250 million have been invited by the Ministry of the Industrial Development, SMEs and Cooperatives to register with the SME Registration Unit for obtention of the SME Certificate.
