Major roadworks at Ebene for two weeks – here are the detour details

Major road works will be carried out along the Motorway M1 in the region of Ebène, near Pont Mattar, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Land Transport and Lightrail.

According to the document, the Motorway M1 would be closed from 10pm to 5am from Monday 03 October 2022 to Friday 07 October 2022 and from Monday 10 October 2022 to Friday 14 October 2022, respectively.

Works will be carried out only during weekdays and at night time.

The traffic will be diverted as follows:

1. Traffic on Motorway M1 from the South proceeding towards the North will be diverted at Ebène Interchange, through Ebène Cyber City and onto Julius Nyerere Avenue (B1) to join Motorway M1 at Réduit Grade Separated Junction; and
2. Traffic on Motorway M1 from the North proceeding towards South will be diverted at Réduit Grade Separated Junction, onto Julius Nyerere Avenue (B1) and through Ebène Cyber City to join Motorway M1 at Ebène Interchange.

The necessary traffic signs will be set up and Police will be present to inform and guide road users accordingly.

Drivers are strongly advised to exercise caution when approaching the works area and to drive within the prevailing speed limit.
