Plastic manufacturer's turnover up 25%, but posts loss of Rs7million

PIM Ltd, which is listed on the DEM market of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius, has posted an increase of 25% in turnover for the year ended June 2022 compared to last year.

The company manufactures plastic products for industrial and commercial business destined to the local and regional markets.

Its range of products include mainly household products and packaging for the chemical, detergent, paint, pharmaceutical, beverages, food and environment segments.

PIM said in a document published by the SEM that it continues to face pressure in the costs of raw materials.

“To minimise these costs, the company is looking into the possibilities of increasing the use of recycle raw materials in its production process,” it said.

PIM posted a total comprehensive loss of Rs7.7 million.
