Decentralisation Programme of Medical Specialties launched at Mahebourg

Authorities have extended the Decentralisation Programme of Medical Specialties to Mahebourg Hospital.

Hence, residents in the neighbouring regions namely Vieux Grand Port, Rivière des Creoles, Ferney, Plaine Magnien, Union Vale, and St Hubert will benefit from specialised medical services including cardiology, orthopedics, gynecology, and surgery.

Other medical specialties will also be made available.

Health Minister Kailesh Jagutpal said the initiative will relieve patients of long hours of waiting and facilitate access to specialised medical services. 

Specialised services will be available to patients on appointment and for those requiring regular monitoring of their health.

The Service d’assistance médicale d’urgence (SAMU) Department of the New Souillac Hospital has also been inaugurated by Dr Kailesh Kumar Singh Jagutpal, in the in the context of World Patient Safety Day 2022.
