Marginal increase in Mauritius' reserves, 2 months after major drop

The Gross Official International Reserves (GOIR) of the country increased marginally from July 2022 to August 2022.

It amounted to Rs316.9 billion (equivalent to USD7.07billion) as at end-August 2022 compared to Rs316.57billion (equivalent to USD7.01bilion) as at end-July 2022.

Based on the imports of goods and services in 2021, the GOIR represented 15.0 months of imports as at end-August 2022.

Between June and July, international reserves had dipped by Rs29.4 billion (to US $7.01billion as at end July 2022, from US$7.63billion as at end June 2022).
