Mauritius to slap airlines with 5% penalty

Airlines that are late in the payment of passenger service charge to the airport will soon be hit with a penalty of 5% and interest at the rate of 1% per month.

The penalty is part of the Civil Aviation (Passenger Service Charge) (Amendment) Regulations 2022 that will come into operation on 01 November 2022.

The remittance period will be not later than 30 days after the end of every month, Cabinet papers read.
