After their arrests, they were interviewed at the Grand-Bois police station on claims that the demonstration was illegal. However, they were later released on bail.

MMM leader Paul Bérenger, who went to Grand-Bois police station, strongly denounced the arrests.

“They are trying to intimidate people, but you shouldn’t be afraid,” he told the crowd.

Police are reportedly planning further arrests after viewing of the area’s CCTV footage.
