Legal battle between Boolell and the Speaker to kick off before Supreme Court

The legal battle between Dr. Arvin Boolell, Labour Party’s parliamentary leader and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sooroojdev Phokeer, will kick off before the Supreme Court this Friday, February 4.

It will be refereed by judges Karuna Devi Gunesh-Balaghee and Denis Mootoo., l’Express has reported.

Boolell is challenging his eight-week suspension from the National Assembly. The constitutional complaint also targets PM Pravind Jugnauth and the Clerk of the National Assembly, Bibi Safeena Lotun.
