Residents of Bambous Virieux took to the streets this Sunday morning to make their voices heard in the wake of persistent water problems in the region. The situation, according to them, has lasted for two months.

Defi Media reported on Sunday that locals had erected barricades on the road and called for the immediate intervention of the Central Water Authority.

Residents of several regions, in the northern and southern parts of the country, have been critical towards the erratic distribution of water over the past weeks.

The Central Water Authority has claimed works are underway to repair defective pipes in the region. Water tankers are also being deployed.
