Sailboat stolen on the west coast, heading towards Madagascar

A white Oceanis 351 sailboat, registered PPC 5452-OL-12, has gone missing at Albion, on the west coast.

The “El Vivo”, registered PPC 5452-OL-12, was last seen setting off on Friday 22 October at 6am.

According to Defi Media, owner Nicolas Raffray alerted Grand Baie National Coast Guard, setting it was heading west, “at full sail and full speed.”

The thieves are probably going to Madagascar, so they will get there soon. If you know someone in Madagascar who can help, or if you have any idea how to help, please send me a message, thank you,” he reportedly called out.

He added that French authorities in Reunion Island are already aware of the theft.
