COVID Digital pass draws heavy criticism over technical glitches

The digital vaccination pass (or Digital Health Pass) launched a few days ago in replacement of the paper version is reportedly a real headache for the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

Launched on Friday October 1, the pass was plagued with several technical glitches – hundreds of fully vaccinated people were told either they were only “partially vaccinated’, or that their data was “not available”.

Overwhelmed by an avalanche of criticisms, the Ministry of ICT said it will be handling complaints through a hotline (401 3060) from 8.45 a.m. to 8 p.m. on week days and from 8.45 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.

Complaints can also be made via email: passvaksinal@govmu.org.

Until the system is fully operational, the minister said the paper vaccine card will be temporarily accepted.
