US-based Bunker One has announced plans for a physical supply operation in Mauritius which will serve vessels operating on the main maritime routes between East and West Africa.

The company announced its ambitions to enter the East African market when it published its FY2020/2021 results in July.

Bunker One has secured storage capacity at Port Louis at a terminal owned by Vivo Energy Mauritius, and it will supply at anchorage and in port.

Through the move, Bunker One intends to position Port Louis as a key regional bunker hub to ships calling and passing Mauritius.

The new operation is expected to commence in Q4 2021.
