New QR Code to give access to pubs, cinemas, gyms

Mauritius will soon join a number of countries which use the Health Pass to allow access to certain public places.

As such, the vaccination card will be replaced by a QR Code, similar to the Work Access Permit. The system is reportedly being worked on is 50% completed. The measure will be imposed to a few places, to begin with, but the list will be gradually extended, Defi Media reported.

It added that cinemas, pubs, discos and gyms will be allowed to operate during the month of September.

Meanwhile, international flights from and to Mauritius will resume on October 1, Tourism Minister Steeven Obeegadoo has announced. From October 1, Air Mauritius will resume commercial flights to London and other destinations.
