The Supreme Court has rejected the election petition presented by Labour stalwart Ezra Jhuboo.

The Labour candidate at the 2019 general elections in constituency number 14 (Savane / Rivière-Noire), had demanded a recount of votes after finishing just behind the three candidates of the Alliance Morisien, Alan Ganoo (20,631 votes), Sandra Mayotte (18,204 votes) and Nand Prakash Ramchurrun (15,833 votes). Ezra Jhuboo had received 15,648 votes.

The Supreme Court ruled that Ezra Jhuboo failed to demonstrate any irregularity in the election and the counting exercise.
