Air Mauritius to resume UK flights in October

Travellers will soon be able to fly with Air Mauritius and land at Heathdrow Airport as from October 3.

The bonus will be that the airline (under voluntary administration) will be using a new Airbus A330-neo with 260 economy and 28 business class seats. The airline will operate from London on Saturday and Sunday.

Air Mauritius was placed into administration in May 2020 and set June 2021 as deadline to convene a meeting for creditors. The meeting has now been postponed until January 31, 2022.

Administrators are said to have made significant savings, but not sufficient enough to get Air Mauritius out of administration.

“We are trying to maintain the required flights to support the country’s economic activities and to address any humanitarian considerations.”

The airline is currently selling off part of its fleet, now left of 10 aircrafts.
