Central Bank inks agreement with ICTA

The Bank of Mauritius and the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA) have have signed a Memorandum of Understanding – as a follow-up to recent amendments brought to the Banking Act in the Financial (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020.

The MoU will enable both regulators to share information and increase the level of collaboration and cooperation, the BoM has said.

“It will also facilitate the digitalisation of the financial sector, the oversight and supervision of cybersecurity and information security risks as well as other risks in their respective sectors.”

The BoM said the MoU was signed by the First Deputy Governor  and the Chairperson of the ICTA.

On another matter, the Central Bank announced that the next meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee will be held on August 4 2021.
