Budget speech: June 11 @ 5pm.

The National Assembly session of Tuesday, May 25 was adjourned to Friday, June 11, at 5 p.m, date and time which has been set for the presentation of the 2021-2022 Budget, Le Mauricien reported.

L’Express reported that the Budget speech will coincide with the kick-off of Euro 2021 (to be held from June 11 to July 11, 2021).

The newspaper also reported that “all indicates that the Minister of Finance, Renganaden Padayachy will not pay heed to the recommendations of the IMF to transfer the operations of the Mauritius Investment Corporation under the care of the Government instead of the Bank of Mauritius.”
