Met issues warning of strong winds and high waves

The Meteorological services have issued a warning of strong winds and high wave in Mauritius, Rodrigues and St Brandon from this Thursday 20 May until Saturday 22 May.

“The wind will blow from the South- East at a speed of 40 to 50 km/h with gusts that may reach 90 km/h in exposed areas. The open sea will be rough to very rough with waves of the order of 4 metres. Ventures into the open sea as well as in the lagoons are strongly not advised,” Defi Media reported.

All this is reportedly the combined effect of an anticyclone to the South of the Mascarenes and a tropical disturbance to the North-North-East of the region.

The open sea will be rough to very rough with waves of the order of 4 metres.

Ventures in the open sea as well as in the lagoons are strongly not advised.
